Threads of Justice Reinvestment & Insight

At the October meeting, our Portfolio Management Team voted to approve a reinvestment in Threads of Justice Collective, including Partner time and a $20,000 grant. We initially partnered with the collective in 2019 to support their focus on early childhood anti-bias education. They convene educators, parents, and community members to engage in culturally relevant and respectful practices that honor all children and families while minimizing the harmful impact of institutional bias, discrimination, and oppression on children’s development and the quality of their learning and lives. By organizing and delivering workshops, retreats, conferences, teaching tools, they address oppression in the lives of young children and their families. SVP strongly believes the program offerings are important and needed in the early learning space, so this continues to be a critical investment.

In their continuing series to highlight systems change leaders, Social Venture Partners International (SVPI) just featured a conversation with Katie Kissinger, a member of the Executive Council of the Threads of Justice Collective, who was an inaugural Reimagine Fund awardee.
