Meet Our New Development & Events Coordinator!

We are thrilled to share that Polly Luttrell has joined SVP Portland as our new Development & Events Coordinator! In this role, Polly helps ensure that our Partner recruitment, stewardship, and engagement work is managed efficiently and effectively. This includes programmatic, administrative, data management & analysis, and operational elements, as well as event planning and special projects.

Polly brings nearly 15 years of experience in project management, business operations, and event coordination. She graduated from Wright State University with a BA in Liberal Studies and holds the Certified Associate in Project Management certification in project management. Polly has spent years coordinating events and marketing initiatives to raise awareness and funds for a variety of nonprofits and charitable organizations, supporting causes ranging from childhood cancer research to local youth support programs. She appreciates the important role data can play in telling a story, and is excited to lend her skills to advance SVP’s mission in this way.

In 2009, Polly moved from rural Ohio to Oregon, seeking a larger life in a beautiful place. She remains in awe of the grandness and magic the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Polly is excited to be applying her skills to benefit local communities and is deeply moved and motivated by SVP’s mission. She’s seen firsthand the power of community resources coming together to serve the greater good and feels immense gratitude for the opportunity to contribute in such a meaningful and high impact way.

As Polly shared, “Disparities in access to preschool education underscore broader societal inequalities that require collaborative efforts to address. By prioritizing access to excellent early education, we can begin to dismantle systemic barriers and create pathways for all children to thrive, irrespective of their background or circumstances. This commitment aligns closely with my belief in creating a more just and equitable community through proactive initiatives.”

Outside of her professional life, Polly is an avid plant lover and enjoys gardening, taking meandering walks, and immersing herself in nature. Her other interests include writing, reading, and hanging out with her two rambunctious and occasionally affectionate cats. You can reach out to her at polly@svpportland.org if you’d like to connect and welcome her to SVP Portland!
