Please Welcome Our New Finance & Operations Manager!

We are delighted to announce that LB Yockey Jones has joined SVP Portland as our new Finance & Operations Manager! In this role, LB manages our financial systems and operational needs to ensure we have systems, processes, and reporting in place to carry out our mission and support our nonprofit partners. In reflecting on what attracted her to SVP: “SVP’s capacity-building work is an exciting strategy to fundamentally change the outcome of philanthropy to one that is measurable, actionable, and collaborative.”

LB recently left the Oregon Symphony where she fulfilled controller functions and played a key role in operationalizing and formalizing processes as their Director of Business Operations. Before she moved to Portland in June of 2019 for this position, she was the Director of Finance and Operations at the Oregon Symphony in Salem. She has an MBA in Strategy and Management, and experience in bookkeeping, business modeling, and technology management gained through 20 years of experience across sectors.

LB also has experience in anti-racism work, and is committed to approaching projects with a DEI mindset. “I think that being part of a collaborative team committed to advancing equity and addressing gaps in access to early childhood education is truly exciting. My mother, a retired educator, earned her Master’s degree in early childhood pedagogy during my early years, and the value I got from having an engaged supporter who used evidence-based educational methodology was incalculable. I have passion for our work as I believe inequities in education set up many future paths – the child who is failed early on by our educational systems is often failed by other systems as an adult.”

LB loves listening to loud music while cooking really elaborate meals. She also enjoys playing long and complicated tabletop board games like Terraforming Mars and Wingspan. She is a diehard Seattle Seahawks fan, and when she isn’t being an active 12th Man, she creates abstract art for fun.You can reach out to her if you would like to connect and welcome her to SVP Portland!
